Have I mentioned how much I enjoy photographing high school seniors? I LOVE IT!!!
Carly is a great example of why photographing these students is just a privilege and joy. With a million watt smile and great taste in boots Carly lights up the room! She has a distinct personality and style that is simple, subtle, and modern. This is also reflected in the jewelry that she designs, makes, and wears. When I first met with Carly I was excited to learn that she had recently returned from Italy (super jealous) and not only did she bring back some beautiful dresses and boots, but she really seemed to be inspired by the visual dynamics of the city.
Hoping for good weather we trekked to Salem for a more urban look – Downtown and Willamette University were our main locations. On a side note: It must have been photo-day because we saw at least 10 other photographers working that day. Wow! Carly’s friend, Vanessa, came along for the shoot also… but she’ll get her own blog post next.
I am very excited to see what lays ahead in Carly’s future. Fashion/Apparel Design? Jewelry Making? Definitely something creative and hands-on. …No matter what it is I know it will be worth keeping my eyes on.
