Let us be grateful to people who make us happy, they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. -Marcel Proust
Samara + Brett classic, beautiful, and intimate wedding at The Ainsworth House & Garden outside Portland was everything they’d dreamed it would be.
They each spent the morning with their respective bridesmaids and groomsmen at a nearby hotel, before making the short but sometimes time consuming trip to their venue. Everything was ready for them upon arrival and the garden was in full bloom. After exchanging gifts through Samara’s dual Matrons of Honor it was time for the bride to have a first look; first with her Dad, then with her groom. The entire day from beginning to end was full of happy tears and plenty of laughter; munching and sipping; hand holding and butt grabbing. Did I mention yet that Samara is a triathlete? …and that Brett loooooves motorcycles? Let’s just say that their guest list included some really adventurous folks.
The color palette of gray, cream, and Tiffany blue was perfectly elegant for the formal garden setting.
When asked what their favorite parts of the day where this is what Samara + Brett had to say…
Samara: OMG That Garter toss though. Also Brett’s vows.
Brett: The best man toast. Also the vows…the look on Samara’s face when she sees the ring on my finger.
What are you most looking forward to in married life?
Samara: Finally being married! Putting a ring on it (Brett’s finger), also cake.
Brett: Being married! The little black book, also leftover cake and beer.
What advice do you have for others?
Samara: (Wedding planning) Give yourself time to plan and when the day finally comes take a breath and let it all go. Unless it will make or break your wedding day it absolutely isn’t worth worrying about. Your day will be uniquely you, no matter what happens. (Training) As with most things, Quality over quantity. If you’re training with your partner but aren’t at the same level. Find ways to make your workouts overlap so they still feel like you’re doing something together but allow you to work at your own pace. (Motorcycles) Ride hard, ride fast, don’t be stupid and don’t get caught. (In life) Do what makes you happy! In your relationship, in your life, in your wedding. At the end of the day, you have to be true to yourself, your needs, and your goals.
Brett: Don’t puke on her dress if you get nervous. Take a second to breath and step back and look at the situation, they are who they are, you are who you are, and the the situation is what it is. You’ve got to accept and appreciate what is in front of you and the experience around you.
Solid advice guys.
Enough talk… let’s see some photography!!!
