It’s been a summer of romantic country weddings of every size and style!
Brittany + Patrick’s wedding on her family’s century farm was no exception.
I was first contacted by Patrick for their wedding photography. Honestly I thought that the message might be spam because of his signature – Patrick “Crazee” Brazee. Lol! I replied with all my photography info all the same and soon was meeting with them for their engagement session at Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum. Our time at the museum set up a wonderful working relationship for their wedding day!
Now… the Bride and Groom are University of Oregon Duck fans, which I didn’t hold against them (GO BEAVS!), so their day began with greasy spoon breakfast and watching the game for the guys. The ladies were up early getting started on set up, hair, and make up. While the girls got themselves all prettied up, I roamed the property photographing the many DIY wedding stations. There was the candy hutch, the ceremony area, lawn jenga, lemonade bar, cake displays, welcome table, and a beautiful lawn for the dinner reception. Every inch was special and came with months of planning.
Once Brittany was in her dress it was time to head outside for her first look with the Groom. I knew that this moment would be so special for the two of them, and I knew that I could count on Patrick for an animated response to seeing his Bride. …he delivered! The wedding party and families joined us soon after and it was nothing but laughs and happy tears for the rest of the day.
My favorite part of the ceremony …ok I have two favorite parts.
My first favorite part was near the beginning when Patrick had a question for one of the flower girls – Brittany’s 8 year old daughter. She came up to the front and he knelt down to ask her if he could be her Daddy. Everyone was in tears, including myself. My second favorite part was when their friend & officiant was telling everyone about how they had met in Hawaii while Brittany and her sister were on vacation and gave Patrick a fist bump. Nice.
After a very enthusiastic kiss it was time for dinner, toasts, cake and DANCING!!!
