Hanna + Cody | Engagement Session in Pacific City

panoramic photo of haystack rock and cliffs in Pacific City

Some people might think that scheduling an engagement session on the Oregon Coast in December is crazy… I beg to differ!

The Oregon Coast – Pacific City in this case – is delightful in the winter months of November to February. It’s usually calm, almost warm, low wind, good surf, and you might even see some whales! So when Hanna said that she wanted to go to the coast for an engagement session with her new fiance Cody, I knew just where to take them 🙂 Pacific City is a hidden gem, you actually have to come off of Hwy 101 to get there, and it offers some spectacular scenery. One of Oregon’s many Haystack Rocks is there, along with orange sandstone cliffs, tide pools, THE dune, and Pelican Brewery + Pub. It’s my favorite beach!

Hanna and Cody are from Idaho, but I’d say they’re really Oregonians at heart. They took to the beach like excited puppies and were troopers about not wearing their warm jackets for the portraits. I could tell just by looking at them that they’re the type of couple who love to just hunker down on the couch with some hot chocolate and be snuggly… so that’s how we started their session.
